**MIA WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR VISITORS TUESDAY MARCH 21**Mia was surrendered to the shelter because her owners didn’t have enough time for her. This girl has already been in two homes and would really like to find a permanent place to call home. She is house trained, crate trained and knows basic obedience. She has been allowed on furniture in her previous home, so you’ll have to teach her what’s acceptable in her new home. When you first meet Mia, you will notice that she barks. . . a lot. Whether this behaviour has begun from boredom or because she enjoys the sound of her own voice, it’s not great. Due to the amount of pent up energy she has, we’re assuming it’s from boredom and should be corrected by engaging in activities with her. She needs to be kept active not only physically, but mentally. Taking her to obedience school will help her bond with you and socialize with other people and animals. Hiking, walking and interactive games are great ways to tucker her out. Couch surfing is not what Mia wants to do. Have you ever watched dog agility or fly ball? Once properly trained, Mia would be AMAZING at either one of these high energy sports. She’s driven, but just needs to be more focused. Mia lived with a cat, but was too hyper for her. She enjoys meeting other dogs, but again can be too hyper. Due to her energy level, Mia would do best in a home without other animals or children under the age of 18. A structured environment with consistency in her training will go a long way with this lovely lady. ~available for adoption at the shelter~
